RE: END OF TERM II CIRCULAR LETTER TO PARENTS/GUARDIANS
1.0 GRATITUDE
I thank God Almighty for this far we have come.
I am grateful to the Board of Governors (B.O.G) and the Foundation Body for their critical guidance.
The parents are appreciated for choosing us to collaborate in the education of their children.
I thank the Administration and the entire staff of St. Kizito S.S Bugolobi for their patience and enthusiasm in serving and educating the students entrusted to us.
All students are appreciated for working hard and behaving well.
May our generous God reward each and every one for the good work done.
2.0 TERM DATES
2.1 The school has closed for 2nd Term holidays today 25th August, 2023.
2.2 All students have been issued with report forms and the circular letter to the parents.
2.3 The candidates will close on Friday 1st September, 2023.
2.4 The school will open for 3rd Term on Monday 18th September, 2023. Boarders will report on Sunday 17th September, 2023.
2.5 We shall close 3rd term on 1st December, 2023.
All students should report in full school uniform
3.0 ACADEMICS
3.1 Academics:
The academic programs take most of the time of both teachers and students for it is the main reason why we are in school.
Teaching and learning activities were carried out with great dedication for most of the school community.
3.1.1 The school opened on 29th May, 2023.
3.1.2 Non candidate classes sat for beginning of term and two sets of end of term exams.
3.1.3 The candidates sat for two sets of mock examinations, that is, Internal and External mocks. They have been given the results of the internal mock exams.
We continue to pray for our candidates to excel in their exams.
Parents are requested to cooperate and pay all their school dues on time to avoid wasting any of their precious time.
3.1.4 Candidates went for study tours as follows:
S.6 candidates went out for a number of study tours and these include among others: Entrepreneurship Class on Friday 19/7/2023 to Hot Loaf, Blue Ribbon and Hannah Poultry Farm all in Jinja.
Geography class went on Friday 4/8/2023 to Masese landing site in Jinja, Ssezibwa waterfalls and Lugazi Sugar Factory.
S.4 candidates also went for study tours starting with Home Management students who visited Garuga Hotel-Entebbe and Ntake Bakery-Nalukolongo on Friday 21/7/2023.
Agriculture students went on Wednesday 26/7/2023 to Kabanyolo Agricultural College.
Geography students went on Thursday 27/7/2023 to Masese landing site in Jinja, Uganda Farmers Crop Industries and Sugar Cane Plantations and Ssezibwa falls.
3.1.5 Extra lessons for semi candidates and candidates were conducted to cover the lost and missed learning time.
4.0 CO-CURRICULAR ACTVTIES
4.1 There was Inter-House Music, Dance and Drama competitions on 8th July, 2023 and Kiwanuka house emerged the winner followed by Lourdel, Comboni and Kestens in that order.
4.2 There were also inter-dormitory competitions for boarding students.
4.3 The school participated in the Parish Day sports gala which involved the youth from all the sub - parishes of Our Lady of Africa – Mbuya. Our students participated in ball games and athletics and emerged the overall winners. They were awarded a trophy and a goat. We all celebrated their victory.
5.0 SPIRITUAL FORMATION
5.1 The school spiritual programs have been running fairly well, e.g. Holy Mass is celebrated every Wednesday according to classes and every Sunday for all boarding students. Rosary is recited everyday according to classes.
5.2 Spiritual clubs e.g. Legion of Mary, Prayer Group, Youth Alive, Focolare among others meet every Thursday.
5.3 Catechism classes are carried out every Thursday evening. 4 of our students were baptized, 26 received first Holy Communion and 32 received the sacrament of confirmation on Parish Day. We thank God for this spiritual harvest.
5.4 The school participated in the Parish Day celebrations. Our students took
very active part e.g. entertainments and keeping order (scouts)
5.5 Secular clubs e.g. Interact; Scouts meet every Friday.
6.0 P.T.A ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGS: -
6.1 There was an Elective PTA Annual General Meeting which took place on 23rd July, 2023, and the following parents were elected to the Executive;

6.2 On the same day we also had visitation/Interaction.
7.0 DISCIPLINE
We continue to thank God for the majority of our students who are well behaved. However, we hasten to mention that there are a few who were involved in unbecoming behaviour. Most of the cases were dealt with at school level. Some of the culprits who were referred to the Board of Governors were expelled from the school.
We continue to call upon the parents to be cooperative in cases where their children have discipline issues.
We thank the parents who have been cooperative in matters of students’ discipline.
NB: Electronics in form of cell phones and the likes are strictly prohibited within the
school premises.
8.0 THE SCHOOL FEES
8.1 We thank the parents who have been faithful to complete school fees for their children on time.
8.2 The school fees are as follows:

Parents are encouraged to pay at least 50% of the school fees before the term opens to avoid the inconvenience of sending students home to collect school fees.
8.3 Other Payments
Some vocational subjects attract an extra fee as follows: -
All students offering Home Management, Food Science and Technology at O’ level and Foods and Nutrition at A’ Level will contribute Ug. Shs. 50,000/= per term.
All those offering Fine Art and Art and Design at O’ level will contribute Ushs. 50,000/= per term while those offering Fine Art at A’ level will pay Ug. Ushs. 60,000/=.
8.4 All boarding students to pay Ushs. 5,000/= for trimming their hair in the course of the term.
8.5 Students who top their classes (1st positon) will not pay tuition fees in the subsequent term. This does not apply to boarding fees of Ug. Shs. 411,000/=.
9.0 NON - MONETARY REQUIREMENTS:
These will be collected on the 1st day of reporting.
All students to bring 4 big rolls of toilet papers, and two brooms (one soft, one hard)
S.1, S.2, and S.5 to bring a ream of photocopying paper each (500 sheets, Dolphin).
S.3 and S.4 to bring a ream of ruled papers each (500 sheets).
S.6 to bring a ream of graph papers.
All boarding students to bring two mopping rags each.
Boarding students: S.5 and S.6 to bring a squeezer each, then S.1, S.2, S.3 and S.4 to bring a scrubbing brush each.
10.0 OVERVIEW THIRD TERM ACTIVITIES
10.1 Academics
The main activity in 3rd Term will be teaching, learning and Uganda National Examinations (UNEB) at both O and A levels.
The non-candidates’ classes will start Beginning of Term exams in the 2nd week of opening the school.
The Legion of Mary spiritual club will have a re-union day at Bishop Cypriano Kihangire S.S Luzira on Saturday 30th September, 2023.
The school will make a pilgrimage to Our Lady of Africa - Mbuya parish on Sunday 1st October, 2023.
Inter-house debate competition will take place Friday 6th October, 2023.
Visitation/Interaction will be on Sunday 8th October, 2023.
There will also be blessing of candidates the same day.
UCE UNEB briefing will be on Friday 13th October, 2023.
UACE briefing will take place on Friday 10th November, 2023.
End of Term III exams will start on Wednesday 15th November.
End of Term III Behaviour Change Program will be on 23rd and 24th November, 2023.
End of term retreat will be on 27th and 28th November, 2023.
The school will close for 3rd term holidays on 1st December, 2023.
11.0 OBITUARY
Some members of our school community lost their dear ones in the course of the term. Our sincere condolences go to the affected individuals and families.
May the souls of the departed rest in eternal peace.
12.0 BLESSINGS
St. Kizito staff wish all the parents/guardians and students a peaceful and revitalizing holiday. May God renew your strength spiritually, intellectually, physically, economically and socially.
